Prescription & Refill Policy

To provide the highest level of care and remain compliant with state and federal laws, please take note of our medication guidelines:

  • The VCPR Requirement: By law, a valid Veterinarian-Client-Patient Relationship (VCPR) must be established. This means your pet must have been examined by our doctors within the last year to receive prescription medications.
  • 24-Hour Processing: Please allow at least 24 hours for all refill requests. This applies to both in-house prescriptions and requests sent to outside pharmacies.
  • Why the wait? This window allows our veterinarians to conduct vital safety reviews, check your pet’s medical records, and ensure the medication is currently in stock.
  • Weekend Requests: Requests submitted on Saturday may not be processed until the following Monday.
  • Pro Tip: We recommend requesting your refills when you have about a 5-day supply left to ensure your pet never misses a dose!
